Gan Tammy is one of Jerusalem's best known private kindergartens. We are a Dati English language pre-school, entering our 6th year in Jerusalem's Katamon neighborhood. Before this, Tammy's gan was in the German Colony for 15 years. The long annual waiting list the gan always had speaks volumes for the excellent reputation of this joyful, warm pre-school.

Since moving to Katamon Gan Tammy has been able to offer two classes: a new younger class for children aged 1.5 - 2 years (taught  by Amanda Seitz), as well as the older class for 2-3 year olds (taught by Tammy herself).

The Gan reflects the educational philosophy of its founder and headteacher Tammy Wilson-Mallerman:

 

Tammy's classes have a well-earned reputation as warm, calm, and loving environments, where the staff focus on each child's individual educational needs. Tammy believes that children thrive in a calm environment where they understand the routine and boundaries, and where their play is enriched by an exciting experiential curriculum.

 

At Gan Tammy the children learn about the world around them, covering diverse topics such as colors, shapes, animals, seasons, and much more.

Their growth as social people is always encouraged and developed, through guided play and activity, with singing, and crafts, games and stories to stimulate their natural curiosity.

Gan Tammy is a 'dati leumi' school - tefila and brachot are an integral part of the routine of each day, and the cycle of the Jewish year is incorporated into the curriculum: Shabbat is the high point of the children's week and chagim are celebrated in gan with art, song, stories and seudot. In addition Yom Haa'atsmaut and other Israeli national occasions are taught and  celebrated in the Gan
